Mrs. Cynthia Torres

It’s been a fantastic semester so far, and I am incredibly thankful and proud to be the Superintendent of the La Feria ISD. As we enter this season of Thanksgiving, I want to send each of you a sincere word of thanks and my warmest wishes for a happy and safe holiday season with your loved ones.

I would like to express my gratitude for the hard work and dedication of the staff of the La Feria ISD. We were able to secure a little over $2,000,000 from a Safety and Facilities Enhancement (SAFE) Grant that will be utilized to update facilities for additional safety measures. Our after-school ACE Program continues to grow in enrollment and programming. We are partnering with UTRGV in the Social Work Internship Program. UTRGV students in this program will provide over 400 hours in the spring of 2024 for student group sessions and parent workshops.  We are also partnering with TSC to provide educational field trips as well as summer camps for our students. The CTE Program held its first ever La Feria ISD BBQ Competition and had approximately 15 teams compete. In addition, the CTE sponsored the annual Candy Bash, Monster Mash, and it was a huge success. We had well over 1,000 children attend.  Our campuses honored our Veterans this past month. I want to say “Thank You” to all of the staff, parents, and community members that have served or that are currently serving in the military;  for without you, we would not have our freedoms.

I am thankful for our parents and community and look forward to the opportunity to work with you for the betterment of our students.

Sincerely,

Cynthia Torres
