La Feria Academy staff supports the annual Read Across America which takes place on the week of March 2nd. It is a nationwide reading celebration that was created by the NEA (National Education Association) in 1997 to promote literacy and encourage a love of reading among children. Everyone can get involved in Read Across America by reading books with kids, tapping into NEA’s resources, and hosting community gatherings. At La Feria Academy our English teacher ensures that our students get their dose of Dr. Seuss. Other ways to enjoy Read Across America are: keep books everywhere you spend time, put them in your car, in every room of the house; visit the library often; get caught reading; read to your children, and have your children read to you!
