Dear La Feria ISD Families and Community, As we begin the second semester, I want to take a moment to thank our students, staff, and families for their hard work and dedication during the first half of the school year. We have already accomplished so much, and there is still plenty to look forward to in the months ahead. As we begin the second semester, I want to emphasize the importance of supporting our students academically. We are committed to ensuring that every student reaches their full potential, and we encourage families to take advantage of the enrichment opportunities available. If your child needs additional support, we offer tutoring after school and during the school day. These programs are designed to strengthen student learning and provide the necessary resources to help them succeed. I also encourage parents to stay in close contact with their child’s teacher. Communication and collaboration between home and school are essential to academic growth. By working together, we can ensure that our students continue to make progress and achieve their goals. There are many exciting programs and activities happening across our district. From academic competitions and extracurricular events to new career and technical education opportunities, we are committed to providing students with meaningful learning experiences. Our ACE Program continues to offer valuable certifications, including Dental Assistant and Driver’s Education, and we are launching our first CDL/Forklift certification pilot program with TSTC. Additionally, our elementary students are gearing up for soccer competitions, and we have various other programs taking place at all campuses. In addition to our academic programs, we are excited about the success of our district[1]wide chess program! Chess is a fantastic way for students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Our students have been actively participating in tournaments, and we are incredibly grateful for the dedication of our parent volunteers who help make these events possible. Your support is invaluable, and we couldn’t do it without you! Safety and security remain a top priority, and we are proud to have recently added four police officers and two security guards to further ensure a safe learning environment for our students and staff. Looking ahead, we are excited to celebrate Texas Public School Week from March 3-7. Please stay connected with us through our district webpage and social media for important updates, including Open House dates and other upcoming events. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to make this semester a success. Let’s make the second half of the school year the best yet! Sincerely, Cynthia Torres Superintendent, La Feria ISD.
