Superintendent Mrs. Torres

We are thrilled to have everyone back and ready for another year of growth, learning, and achievement.

As we begin this new year, our focus remains on the safety of our students and staff. In today’s digital age, social media is a significant part of our students' lives, and it's important to address how they use these platforms. In the past weeks, we have witnessed the sharing of threats or harmful rumors online, which can have serious repercussions for our school community.

We urge you to have open and honest conversations about the seriousness of posting or sharing threatening content. The role of parents in guiding and monitoring their child's online activity is crucial. By fostering a culture of openness and responsibility around social media use, we can help ensure that our school remains a safe and supportive place for all students and staff.

Attendance is another critical component of student success. Regular attendance not only supports academic achievement but also helps students develop essential habits of responsibility and commitment. We ask for your continued support in ensuring that your child attends school regularly and arrives on time each day.

Effective communication between parents and teachers is vital for a successful educational experience. We urge parents to stay in touch with their child’s teachers and participate in school events. The involvement in their child's education plays a significant role in their academic progress and overall development.

We are also excited to share initiatives for this year that will enhance our educational programs and support services:

1. We have received notice that La Feria ISD is a partnering district with Region One ESC who received the GEAR UP Grant from the United States Department of Education. The cohort will begin with this year's 7th grade class.

2. La Feria ISD through our ACE Program will be offering new initiatives this year including coed flag football for our 3rd and 4th grade students, a dental assistant certification at the high school, and driver’s education program in the spring.

3. We are anticipating having our La Feria ISD Police Department operational in the month of October.

4. La Feria ISD continues to offer an associate’s degree for students at La Feria ECHS. Contact your child’s counselor for more information.

Together, we can make this year a remarkable one for our students. Our Students – Our Future! Your partnership is invaluable, and we look forward to working with you to support our children's educational journey.
