Dear Parents and Community Members,
At La Feria ISD, we remain committed to providing the best learning environment for our students, and I am excited to share some important updates with you regarding the work being done to assess and improve our district’s facilities.
As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing our schools, we have begun a comprehensive evaluation of our facility needs. To ensure that these improvements reflect the desires and priorities of our entire community, we have formed a District Facilities Planning Committee made up of parents, staff, and community members. I would like to invite you to join us at our next meeting on November 19, 2024, at 5:30 pm at La Feria ECHS. Your input is invaluable, and we welcome your ideas on how we can better meet the needs of our students, staff, and families. Together, we can create a plan that strengthens our district and supports the success of all students.
In other exciting news, I am pleased to announce that La Feria ISD has been approved by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) to establish our very own police department. This will provide an additional layer of safety and security for our students and staff, and we are eager to implement this important resource in our schools.
In addition to these initiatives, we have several upcoming events that I hope you will participate in:
- Social/Emotional Mental Health Fair: Please join us on November 18for an important event focusing on mental health and well-being. This fair will offer valuable resources for our parents and community, as we work together to support the social and emotional needs of our children.
-Toddler Literacy Night: On December 10, we will host Toddler Literacy Night at La Feria Early College High School. This special event is designed to promote literacy in our youngest learners, ages 1-5. We encourage all parents with young children to attend and engage in activities that foster early reading skills.
As always, thank you for your continued support of La Feria ISD. I am proud to serve this wonderful community, and look forward to working together to create a brighter future for our students. Our Students – Our Future!
Sincerely,
Cynthia Torres
