Superintendent's Corner- November

Dear La Feria ISD Family,

As we approach the Christmas season, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to each of you—students, parents, staff, and community members—for your dedication and support throughout this semester. Together, we’ve made great strides in providing a positive and enriching learning environment for our students.  Our Students – Our Future!

Attendance Matters

As we near the end of the 3rd six weeks, our district-wide attendance percentage average is approximately 94.4%. Last year our average attendance was 92.8%. Thank you parents for your commitment to your child attending school each day. While this reflects the commitment of many, we know there is always room for growth. Consistent attendance is vital for academic success, and I encourage everyone to stay engaged as we wrap up this semester strong.

Upcoming Events

Before we begin our well-deserved Christmas break, there are several exciting events on the horizon. Keep an eye out for updates from your campus, including holiday performances, celebrations, and special events. Let’s continue to come together to celebrate the season and support our students in showcasing their talents.

Facility Needs Assessment

La Feria ISD is currently conducting a district-wide needs assessment to evaluate our facilities and identify areas for improvement. Your input is crucial to this process. We want to hear from you about what you believe are the most pressing needs for our buildings and spaces. Please take a moment to complete the survey using the QR code provided. Together, we can shape the future of our schools and ensure we provide the best possible learning environment for our students.  A District Facility Community Information Meeting will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 5:30 pm at the high school library.

A Holiday Message

As we look forward to Christmas break, I encourage everyone to take this time to rest, recharge, and cherish moments with loved ones. The holidays are a time for reflection, gratitude, and joy, and I hope this season brings all of that and more to each of you.

Thank you for being an integral part of the La Feria ISD family. Let’s finish this semester with energy and enthusiasm, and I look forward to the new year with hope and excitement for what we can achieve together.

Warm regards,

Cynthia Torres
