A message from your Superintendent, Mrs. Torres!
Dear Parents & Community Members,
Throughout the past academic year, our theme of "Together, We Are One" has been a guiding principle in all that we do. This theme emphasizes the importance of unity and collaboration between our district, our community, and our families. Together, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that every student receives the support, resources, and opportunities they need to reach their full potential.
From our dedicated educators and staff to our engaged parents and community members, each of you plays a vital role in the success of our students. Your unwavering commitment to their education and well-being has not gone unnoticed, and for that, I are grateful.
As I reflect on the achievements of the past year, it is evident that our collective efforts have produced great results. Our students have excelled academically, athletically, and artistically, thanks to the support and encouragement they receive from our staff, community and parents.
I also would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the graduating Class of 2024. Your dedication, hard work, and achievements have been nothing short of commendable, and I have no doubt that you will go on to accomplish great things in the future. As you begin a new chapter of your lives, remember that the knowledge and skills you have acquired at La Feria ISD will serve as the foundation for your continued success. Your life’s journey has just begun, and I wish you all the best!
As another school year come to an end, I am pleased to announce a variety of summer programs that will provide our students with opportunities for growth, enrichment, and fun during the upcoming break. Our ACE Program will offer engaging academic and enrichment activities for five weeks during the summer. For those who are passionate about sports, our Sports Camp on May 28-29 will provide opportunities for students to participating in a variety of different activities. Additionally, our Strength & Conditioning program will offer high school students the chance to stay active and healthy over the summer break. We will also offer a cheerleading camp in May, summer school program for our bilingual and migrant students, and credit recovery opportunities for identified students. Please contact your child’s campus for more information.
In addition to these programs, I am excited to announce that our annual Summer Bash will take place on May 31st. This fun-filled event will feature games, activities, and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. More information will be provided in the coming weeks, so be sure to mark your calendars and join us for an evening of celebration and community fellowship.
Furthermore, I am thrilled to announce that the Literacy Bus will be making stops in neighborhoods throughout the summer months to provide students with access to reading materials, literacy activities, and educational resources. Keep an eye out for the Literacy Bus in your area and take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to foster a love of reading in your children.
Lastly, I would like to wish everyone a very safe and enjoyable summer break. Take this time to rest, relax, and recharge, and we look forward to welcoming you back for the first day of school on August 12, 2024.
