CPR Certification Students

La Feria ISD has been offering the CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification to their students for more than 10 years in an effort to equip students with essential life-saving skills. This program aims to foster a culture of preparedness and responsibility among students, enabling them to respond effectively in emergency situations. Not only that, but it prepares students for future healthcare careers and teaches them basic and necessary skills that will take them to new heights. The classes that received the CPR Certification course were Mrs. Cavazos’ CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) class and Mrs. Perez’s CPT/EKG (Phlebotomy/EKG) class, learning fundamental techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation such as the ability to recognize emergencies, how to properly perform chest compressions, rescue breaths, and more. “The future is bright for our students… upon certification and graduation, they can get hired at clinics, doctors offices and hospitals, and these national certifications are valid for 2 years. Our programs continue to grow as students find out how much our classes can offer them, and we are very proud of this,” Mrs. Cavazos explained. The demand for healthcare professionals continues to grow and so do these programs at La Feria Early College High School. By providing students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this demanding field, these programs not only enhance career readiness but also foster a sense of responsibility and community care. As students navigate their paths in the healthcare profession, the experiences and certifications gained during high school will serve as a solid foundation for their future endeavors, contributing to a healthier society overall. This is only the beginning of their careers, we have many students in these classes who have the desire to be heart surgeons, emergency room nurses, and physical therapists, just to name a few. It’s safe to say that the world of health care is looking bright and so are the futures of our students.
